Northumberland & North Pennines
YHA Berwick, Northumberland
25th - 27th August 2012
August bank Holiday at the northernmost hostel in England.
For those who missed it a chance to walk across to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) on the Pilgrim Path (across the sand). Also a chance to visit the famous Alnwick Castle, (which will from now on be known as Hogwarts). For walking we might do the Lowry trail and visit some of the sites immortalised in Lowry’s paintings.
This is YHA’s newest hostel, set in a 200 year old former granary on the quay-side overlooking the river Tweed. The granary building is un-mistakable due to its “lean”, similar to the famous tower in Pisa!and boasts its very own art gallery, hosting exhibits from famous international and local artists.
6 female and 4 male places available but if filled early could increase numbers. Let me know if you are interested.
