Are you part of the YHA?
The group is officially termed a "hostelling and local group" affiliated to, but not part of, the YHA. This status offers certain advantages, such as insurance and some free hostel overnights, but leaves us free to organise our own affairs. Whilst most of our weekend trips make use of YHA hostels, we can and do make use of independent hostels and bunkhouses too.
