Where is Leicester?
Leicester is a bustling city of 280,000 inhabitants situated in the centre of England. People have been living here since Roman times and it's been an important centre for trade and culture ever since. The cultural mix in the city is much enriched by the large ethnic communties that have settled here, giving us an enviable array of cosmopolitan shops and restaurants.
The surrounding county of Leicestershire is one of rolling hills and hedgerows - classic English countryside in fact. Leicestershire was recently chosen as the site for the new National Forest and plantations of young trees can now be found in the north and west of the county.
Leicester's central position and good transport links in all directions makes it an ideal base for our group. We can reach most parts of England and Wales in a few hours and this is reflected in the diversity of our programme. If you should find yourself in Leicester, feel free to turn up to one of our meetings!
