The YHA website looks modern but as a stalwart local group member and long standing YHA member I am unable to find any reference to local groups or affiliated groups. Is it that I am too long in the tooth to navigate the site or is it more likely that affiliated groups have been suppressed. I am not happy with the section for group booking in that groups appear not to have a choice of hostel but to be directed to a hostel that will meet their needs and requirements. This may be OK for holiday groups and school groups but local groups want more independence than that apparently provided. It is a case of wait and see. The groups conference is on March 17th 2007 at Matlock.
